Location and Geography
Maaroom is situated along the Great Sandy Strait, offering scenic views across to K'gari (Fraser Island). It lies about 20 kilometres south of Maryborough along the Cooloola Coast Road, forming part of a series of quaint fishing villages along the waterway between K'gari and the Fraser Coast mainland. The suburb covers an area of 14.37 km² at sea level.
